Even if your finish has deteriorated to a point that you think is beyond repair, you will be amazed at what can be done to restore the wood and have it look new again, or often, your kitchen will look even better when we are done then they did when they were brand new!
Evidence of lacquer breakdown:
A dull whitish or foggy look on the surface of the cabinets that will not wipe off, usually showing first around the sink, cabinets near the stove, heavily used drawers and the toe kick area, you might even see black mold developing in some areas where water damage is occurring.
If you see any of this, it is definitely time to have your cabinets refinished and sealed again.
